17 Students Selected for the MSFSCC Program

The ERASMUS+ funded Master of Science in Food Security and Climate Change (MS FSCC) program has selected seventeen (17) for its first batch of students. Eleven (11) students coming from Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand were selected among 32 applicants to undergo the MSFSCC degree program. The students were admitted to their home universities and will be on mobility to their respective host universities beginning January 2018.

As part of the program, six (6) students were selected by partner universities in to undergo the MSFSCC non-degree program. The students will be granted a one-semester mobility in a host university to conduct their research or take courses for credit.

Member universities of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC) serve as study posts to the students, namely: Kasetsart University in Thailand, University of the Philippines Los Baños, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Institut Pertanian Bogor and Universitas Gadjah Mada both in Indonesia.

The MSFSCC students participated in the Summer School held last July 10-28 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The Summer School was a joint activity of the MS FSCC and the UC, and was co-organized by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Austria.

Selected MS FSCC students will have the opportunity to study for one semester in a European university in cooperation with the European Alliance on Agricultural Knowledge for Development (AGRINATURA).

The student mobilities are co-funded by the ERASMUS+ under the MS FSCC and the UC. The call for the second batch of MSFSCC students will begin in the first quarter of 2018.
